SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan's JX Nippon Oil & Energy is running its olefins conversion unit (OCU) in Kawasaki at close to full capacity after the plant was restarted in early May, a company source said on Tuesday.

The OCU, which can produce around 140,000 tonnes/year of propylene, was taken off line for scheduled maintenance at the end of March. The plant is slated to have another turnaround in October this year, the source said.

Separately, JX Nippon Oil plans to restart its fluid catalytic cracker (FCC), which can produce around 90,000 tonnes/year of propylene, at its Mizushima B refinery complex in the second half of June after the unit was shut for maintenance on 20 March.
