Technip-led consortium wins contract to build Canada LNG project

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--A consortium led by Technip won a contract for front-end engineering and design (FEED) of a grassroot liquefied natural gas (LNG) project at Lelu Islands, British Columbia in Canada, the French engineering firm said on Wednesday.

Technip, South Korea’s Samsung Engineering and China Huanqiu Contracting & Engineering Corp comprise the consortium.

The project will include two 6m tonne/year LNG trains, process units and marine facilities, as well as inlet facilities, utilities and power generation, it said.

“Technip will be in charge of the LNG trains, the process units and marine facilities. The project is scheduled for completion in the second semester of 2014,” it said.

Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
