Japan's domestic shipments of ABS resin falls 13% in April

TOKYO (ICIS)--Japan’s domestic shipments of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) resin fell by 13% year on year to 18,475 tonnes in April, official industry data showed on Wednesday.

Among domestic shipments’ total, shipments for automobile production decreased by 14% to 6,934 tonnes from the same time a year earlier, while shipments for electric appliance were down by 16% to 2,151 tonnes, according to Nihon ABS Jushi Kogyokai (Japan ABS resin industry association).

The country’s exports of ABS resins declined by 10% year on year to 10,638 tonnes in April, based on the data.
