LONDON (ICIS)--Oxea has delivered the first batch of carboxylic acids produced at its new production plant in Oberhausen, Germany, the global oxo-chemicals producer said on Wednesday.
Known as “Carboxylic Acids 3” and completed on 29 April this year, the plant has increased Oxea’s global carboxylic acids production capacity by 40%, the company added. Carboxylics 3 is Oxea’s fifth production facility for the material, and was built in 15 months.
“Our latest carboxylic acid plant addresses the continually increasing demand of our international customers,” said Oxea executive board member Miguel Mantas.
“Growing environmental awareness of both businesses and consumers drive demand for our synthetic fatty acids, which can be used in the manufacture of products such as energy-efficient lubricants or phthalate-free plasticizers,” he added.
Oxea did not disclose detailed capacity figures for its output of carboxylic acids.
