SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Zhejiang Xingxing New Energy Technology plans to start up its 1.8m tonne/year methanol-to-olefin (MTO) plant in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, at the end of 2014 or early 2015, said a source close to the company on Wednesday.
Construction works at the MTO unit started in October last year.
Zhejiang Xingxing is 75% owned by ethylene oxide (EO) producer Sanjiang Fine Chemicals.
The MTO plant is expected to produce around 300,000 tonnes/year of ethylene and 300,000 tonnes/year of propylene, the source added.
