US jet fuel consumption falls by 11%, inventories lose 1.3%

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US jet fuel consumption rates and inventories fell for the week ended 17 May, a government agency’s report showed on Wednesday.

Jet fuel consumption rates fell by 178,000 bbl/day to 1.445m bbl/day, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said.

Inventories also fell, dropping by 500,000 bbl to 38.6m bbl.

Production and import rates held steady at 1.516m bbl/day and 35,000 bbl/day, respectively.

Meanwhile, refinery utilisation rates fell by 0.7 percentage points to 87.3%.
