SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Wanda Group restarted its butadiene rubber (BR) plant at Dongying in Shandong province on 23 May after completing the final stage of expansion works on the unit, a company source said on Friday.
The producer raised the plant’s capacity from 30,000 tonnes/year to 50,000 tonnes/year and is running it at full capacity, according to the source, who was unable to disclose when the expansion work began.
The plant’s expanded capacity is expected to have little impact on the Shandong BR market as its output is largely supplied to downstream subsidiary Wanda Tyre Group, a market player said.
The Wanda Group is a conglomerate based at Dongying in Shandong province, with business interests in the tyre, chemical and property sectors.
