HOUSTON (ICIS)--US midstream energy firm Crosstex Energy launched an open season on Friday to gauge shipper interest on a new natural gas liquids (NGLs) pipeline system from Texas to Louisiana.
The notice calls for binding volume commitments for interstate transportation services of unfractionated NGLs produced in the Permian Basin, Barnett Shale, Eagle Ford Shale and other areas near Mont Belvieu, Texas.
The pipeline will transport the NGL to fractionation facilities in Acadia and Ascension parishes in Louisiana for approximately one year and in Acadia and Iberville parishes thereafter.
Crosstex said the pipeline will have an initial capacity of 77,000 bbl/day for the first year and will expand to reach 132,000 bbl/day.
The open season will close on 21 June at 17:00 Central time.
