Russia monomers, polymers output up in April - Rosstat

MOSCOW (ICIS)--Russia's overall production of monomers and polymers increased in April 2013, the country’s statistical agency Rosstat said on Wednesday.

In April, Russia's total output of ethylene was up by 23.7% year on year to 229,000 tonnes, while propylene production had risen 26.3% to 118,000 tonnes, Rosstat said.

The country's total output of polyethylene was up by 33.2% year on year at 156,000 tonnes, while polypropylene production had increased 27.1% to 68,500 tonnes, it said.

According to Rosstat, Russia's total production of styrene during the month had risen by 36.7% year on year to 58,500 tonnes, while polystyrene output was 37.6% up at 39,700 tonnes.

Phenol output was up 0.9% year on year at 24,300 tonnes, the agency added.
