HOUSTON (ICIS)--US melamine producer Cornerstone Chemical is expected to lift a force majeure on melamine starting on 1 June, market sources said on Wednesday.
The company has been operating under a force majeure declaration since 2 April, following a mechanical problem at its Waggaman, Louisiana, facility.
The unit had been running at reduced rates following the initial mechanical problem, but it is now running well, sources said.
However, supply is still expected to remain tight in the market, particularly as other producers are still working to rebuild inventory following recent production shortfalls.
