LONDON (ICIS)--BP Refining & Petrochemicals (BPRP) has shut down its No 3 cracker in Gelsenkirchen in Germany for planned maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.

The No 3 cracker, one of two owned and operated by BPRP at the site, has a nameplate capacity of 540,000 tonnes/year of ethylene and 270,000 tonnes/year of propylene, according to ICIS data.

The turnaround is expected to last for four to five weeks and once complete will mark the end of the spring cracker maintenance season in Europe.
