SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Yankuang Lunan has started trial production at its new 40,000 tonne/year polyacetal (POM) facility in Tenzhou city, Shandong province, said a source close to the company on Friday.
No reason was provided for the delay in the plant’s start-up from the original schedule of March/April 2013, but market sources said the delay could be due to prevailing weak demand for POM.
POM is an engineering plastic with applications in the automotive and electrical sectors.
