HOUSTON (ICIS)--The former chief executive at Methanol Holdings (Trinidad) Limited (MHTL), Rampersad Motilal, did not resign last week under pressure from minority shareholders, a source close to the company said on Friday.
The company issued a statement on 28 May saying Motilal resigned for personal reasons and that Dennis Patrick had been appointed acting chief executive.
The statement came a week after newspaper accounts of his resignation appeared in Trinidad.
Industry sources speculated that there might be other reasons for Motilal’s resignation, but a source close to the company on Friday denied such talk.
