France's Air Liquide to provide tech for polyamide plants in China

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions has signed contracts with both Fujian Jinfeng Technology and Fujian Zhongjin New Material for polyamide 6 (PA6) plants in China, the France-based technology firm said on Tuesday.

Using its Zimmer technology, Air Liquide will provide the design, propriety equipment and the technical service for the plants, which have a total capacity of 360,000 tonnes/year.

Zimmer technologies form an integral part of the Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions portfolio," said Francois Venet, the company’s vice president. “Our continuous efforts in innovation translate in a strong competitive position, enabling us to commercialise this new concept in China, the most important market for polyamide 6 technology.”

Polyamide 6, or nylon 6, is a thermoplastic used in a variety of industries including textiles, automotive, domestic goods, as well as sports and leisure.
