China approves SK Group's 35% stake in Sinopec's Wuhan cracker

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s National Development Reform Commission (NDRC) announced on Wednesday that it has approved a 65:35 joint venture cracker project between Sinopec and South Korea’s SK Group at Wuhan in Hebei province.

The approval was granted on 27 May, it said.

The cracker, which can produce 800,000 tonnes/year of ethylene, is expected to start operation in July.

Sinopec is a petrochemical major in China.
