LONDON (ICIS)--The European June styrene customer reference price (CRP) has settled at €1,420/tonne ($1,868/tonne), up by €15/tonne from the previous month, the seller involved said on Wednesday.

The settlement was broadly in line with the June barge contract, which was agreed at an increase of €14/tonne earlier this week.

Despite a €11/tonne fall for feedstock benzene this month, the styrene contracts have been supported by a firm spot market amid some short covering for the first half of June.

While several producers have come back online following the turnaround season in Europe, supply for prompt material remains an issue as units slowly build up production output.

The contract was agreed on a free carrier (FCA) Rotterdam basis.
