Texas environmental agency fines CP Chem $100,000

HOUSTON (ICIS)--The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) fined Chevron Phillips Chemical $100,000 (€76,000) for emitting too much air pollution from its plant in Jefferson County, the state agency said on Wednesday.

The emissions began on 3 April 2012, the TCEQ said.

The $100,000 fine was among the $501,180 in total penalties that the TCEQ approved against 33 entities for breaking the state's environmental rules, it said.
