US ethanol inventories strengthen as production increases

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ethanol stocks rose by 2.3% for the last week of May, as production increased, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday.

Ethanol stocks for the week that ended on 31 May were at 16.4m bbl, up from 16.0m bbl the previous week.

Meanwhile, ethanol production was at 885,000 bbl/day, up from 863,000 bbl/day, the previous week.

Ethanol production is down by 2.1% from 904,000 bbl/day in the same week a year ago.

There were no imports for the week, down from 27,000 bbl the prior week.
