SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s SK Global Chemical is running its 35,000 tonne/year ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EPDM) plant in Ulsan at 100% capacity, a company source said.

Prices of medium ethylidene norbornene (ENB) grade EPDM dropped by $50/tonne (€38/tonne) from the previous week to $2,850-2,9500/tonne CIF (cost, freight & insurance) China on 5 June, ICIS data showed.

EPDM prices have been under downward pressure because of oversupply and weak demand amid a slowing Chinese economy, industry sources said.

EPDM is used in a wide range of applications including gaskets and window seals in the automotive industry as well as roofing membrane and electrical insulation material in the construction industry.
