US BD imports fell by 12% in April, ITC

HOUSTON (ICIS) – ?xml:namespace>US imports of butadiene (BD) fell by 12% in April to 36,958 tonnes from 42,011 tonnes a year ago, according to data released Thursday by the US International Trade Commission.
April imports were also down from March, when they were 49,456 tonnes, the ITC said.
US exports of BD were relatively flat on a month-to-month basis, with April at 2,659 tonnes and March at 2,662 tonnes. Exports last year were just 13 tonnes, according to ITC.
The largest source of imports in April were Canada at 9,038 tonnes, Iraq at 7,000 tonnes and Saudi Arabia at 5,723 tonnes, ITC reported. Nearly all the US BD exports went to Mexico, with only small cargoes going to Indonesia and Turkey.
