HOUSTON (ICIS)--US April styrene exports and imports were mixed from the same time a year ago, according to data made available on Thursday by the US International Trade Commission (ITC).
April US styrene exports were at 137,520 tonnes, down by 5% from 145,412 tonnes in April of 2012. The top three destinations for US styrene were Mexico, Korea and Brazil.
Meanwhile, April 2013 styrene imports were at 37,790 tonnes up by 9% from 34,671 tonnes a year earlier.
Canada was the lone exporter of styrene into the US, moving a total of 190,178 tonnes so far in 2013.
Major US styrene producers include Americas Styrenics, Styrolution, LyondellBasell, Total and Westlake.
