HOUSTON (ICIS)--US exports of methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) in April decreased 36 % compared with the same month a year ago, according to data released on Thursday by the US International Trade Commission (ITC).
Exports decreased to 685 tonnes in April this year from 1,071 tonnes in April 2012.
Korea was the top destination, taking more than 70% of all material shipped out of the US. Other major destinations included Canada, Mexico and Chile.
US imports fell by 18% in April compared with the same month a year ago, the ITC said, with South Africa being the sole source.
Imports decreased to 999 tonnes in April this year from 1,224 tonnes in April 2012.
