HOUSTON (ICIS)—US urea imports in April 2013 were down 8.7% from the same month a year earlier, according to data made available by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Friday.
Urea imports declined to 753,349 tonnes in April from 824,931 tonnes in April 2012. Imports fell in April mainly because of decreased product from Canada.
April 2013 imports decreased from 880,408 tonnes of urea in March 2013.
Qatar at 114,464 tonnes was the major source of US urea imports, followed by Indonesia at 102,431 and Canada at 92,493.Other sources included China, Saudi Arabia and Trinidad and Tobago.
