Malaysia’s Optimal Olefins eyes cracker shutdown from 1 Sept

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Malaysia-based Optimal Olefins is on track to shut its 600,000 tonne/year gas cracker at Kerteh in Terengganu for scheduled maintenance starting 1 September, a company source said on Monday.

The planned shutdown is likely to last for around 45 days, the source added.

Optimal Olefins is a joint venture between Malaysia’s state-owned oil and gas firm PETRONAS and US petrochemicals major Dow Chemical.
