LONDON (ICIS)--Perstorp has appointed Jan Secher as its new president and CEO, the Swedish specialty chemicals company said on Wednesday.

Secher succeeds Martin Lundin, who will remain involved in certain strategic projects at Perstorp, including its Vencorex isocyanates joint venture with Thailand’s PTT Global, the company added.

“With a number of portfolio restructuring activities behind us, long term financing in place and a number of key strategic investments approved by the board, it is time for a new CEO to lead Perstorp into its next phase of growth,” Lundin said

Secher has held a number of CEO roles, most recently with German engineering firm Ferrostaal. He was also CEO of Swiss chemical company Clariant from 2006-2008.

Secher will join Perstorp in September.
