HOUSTON (ICIS)--US Williams Olefins’ Geismar cracker in Louisiana experienced an explosion and fire on Thursday morning.
An environmental agency confirmed the incident but declined to specify any further details.
According to news reports, authorities said there have been reports of injuries and the plant remains on fire.
The company has 885,000 tonnes/year of ethylene capacity at the site.
