SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sinopec Yizheng Chemical Fibre Co (YCF) has shut down its 100,000 tonne/year 1,4-butanediol (BDO) plant in Jiangsu province because of a technical issue, a company source said on Friday.
“A reactor of the plant is not running well, and making too [much] noise, so we have to shut down to fix the problem,” the source said.
The plant was taken offline on 6 June and the restart date has not been fixed, the source said.
The plant was operating at around 60% capacity prior to the shutdown.
