US Air Products expands three packaged gases plants in China

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Air Products has completed expansions on three packaged gases plants in ?xml:namespace>China set to primarily serve the country’s metal fabrication industries, the US-based company announced on Monday.
The $10m (€7.5m) project included new state-of-the-art gas transfills at plants in Kunshan, Guangzhou and Tianjin, the company said in a news release.
The plants can now supply Air Products’ Linx gas regulators and a range of shielding gases and other industrial gases for industries such as welding, cutting and other processes for metal fabrication, the company said.
"This investment supports Air Products' commitment to the metal fabrication business in China," said Kurt Lefevere, general manager of Asia Packaged Gases at Air Products. "By expanding these strategically located plants, we have enhanced our supply capabilities and distribution network in some of China's most important manufacturing bases."
Headquartered in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, Air Products provides specialty gases, performance materials, equipment and technology.
