HOUSTON (ICIS)--Jacobs has received a contract for work on Versalis’ planned rubber expansion project at Grangemouth in Scotland, the US-based petrochemicals engineering firm said on Tuesday.
Jacobs said the contract is for engineering, procurement and construction management services “to support the installation of a new finishing line and the associated works”.
“The expansion is expected to significantly increase Polimeri Europa UK's (Versalis Group) rubber production capacity at Grangemouth,” Jacobs said, without disclosing financial details or a timeline for completion and start-up.
ICIS reported previously that Italy-based Versalis is doubling its capacity in Grangemouth from 25,000-30,000 tonnes/year to about 50,000 tonnes/year by 2014.
