MUMBAI (ICIS)--Narendra Plastics, one of India’s largest producer of carrier bags, is looking to double its export volumes amid strong demand from the US and UK, its chairman Navaratan Punamiya said on Wednesday.
He expects the company to export 600 tonnes/month of polyethylene (PE) carrier bags on average in 2013 to the two countries, and 1,200 tonnes/month in 2014.
Navaratan said the company plans to ramp up production at its 2,000 tonne/month convertor unit in Daman, about 170km from Mumbai, to meet the increased demand.
