LONDON (ICIS)--Acrylonitrile (ACN) exports from the 27-member EU fell 82% in March 2013 compared with March 2012, according to data released by Eurostat.
In March 2012, 25,372 tonnes of ACN was exported from the EU, compared with 4,524 tonnes in March 2013.
A spate of production outages in Asia in March 2012 and attractive netbacks to the region caused a large increase in month-on-month export volumes, in February 2012, export volumes had been 5,170 tonnes.During the same period, ACN imports in to the EU rose by 21%, from 9,374 tonnes in March 2012, to 11,307 tonnes in March 2013.
