Belarus chemicals production largely down in January to May period

MOSCOW (ICIS)--Belarus’s production of fertilizers and other chemicals was largely down in the January to May period, statistics agency Belstat said on Wednesday.

The country's total output of mineral fertilizers was down by 4.9% year on year at 2.52m tonnes. Potash production was 6.1% down year on year  over the period at 2.06m tonnes.

Ammonia output was 4.4% up year on year at 463,200 tonnes, according to the agency.

Belarus’s polyethylene (PE) output was up 0.5% year on year at 59,700 tonnes over the period and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) production down 14% at 71,800 tonnes.
