SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical has shut its 280,000 tonne/year monoethylene glycol (MEG) plant in Kashima mid-week for maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.
The maintenance will last until early July, the source said.
"The shutdown will not affect supply to our customers as we have enough stocks,” the source said.
Mitsubishi Chemical is the largest MEG producer in Japan. Other Japanese MEG producers include Nippon Shokubai, Maruzen and Mitsui Chemical.
