Russia reports mixed petchems production in Jan-May

MOSCOW (ICIS)--Russia's overall production of chemical and petrochemical products was mixed in January-May, according to the Russian statistical agency Rosstat on Thursday.

In the January-May period, the country's total output of mineral fertilizers was down by 1.8% year on year at 7.6m tonnes, although ammonia output was up 4.8% year on year at 6.2m tonnes, it said.

Plastics output was 14.9% higher year on year at 2.5m tonnes, the agency said, while synthetic rubber production was up 5.4% to 659,000 tonnes.
