MELBOURNE (ICIS)--Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical plans to restart its 20,000 tonne/year methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) plant in Mizushima on 13 July after completing a turnaround, a company source said on Tuesday.
The plant was taken off line on 8 June to undergo a scheduled maintenance.
Mitsubishi Chemical is one of the three MIBK makers in Japan.
The other producers are Mitsui Chemicals, whose plant has a nameplate capacity of 30,000 tonnes/year, and KH Neochem, which can produce 15,000 tonnes of MIBK annually.
