HOUSTON (ICIS)--Calumet Specialty Products will invest $40m (€30m) to more than double the capacity of its synthetic lubricants plant in Louisiana, Missouri, the US-based producer confirmed on Tuesday.

The plant makes more than 32m lbs/year of “synlubes” used as refrigerants and aviation lubricants, according to Calumet’s website.

The capacity expansion should be complete by the middle of 2014, Calumet said in a news release.

“By increasing facility capacity, we will be well positioned to sell a wider range of products to our growing portfolio of customers,” said Jennifer Straumins, president and COO of Calumet.

Headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, Calumet is a refiner and processor of specialty hydrocarbon products.
