HOUSTON (ICIS)--Canadian fertilizer producer Arianne Phosphate announced Wednesday the appointment of Brian Kenny as CEO effective 3 July.
In a statement the company said Kenny is a seasoned project development executive having overseen more than $10bn (€7.6bn) in projects within the Middle East and comes to the company with a vast background in the technical, legal and environmental aspects of new developments.
The company is developing the Lac a Paul phosphate deposits within in Quebec, Canada.
"We feel extremely fortunate to have attracted such an experienced and successful international veteran of project development to lead Arianne's development of Lac a Paul. We are confidant Brian will integrate quickly with the current team working with our COO, Jean-Sebastien David,” said Guthrie Stewart, company chairman.
“His extensive experience in permitting, construction, startup and operations of mining and smelting projects, and, as well, his hands-on application of sustainable development and impact mitigation principles with local communities make him ideally suited to the tasks ahead for Arianne's management.”
Prior to joining Arianne, Kenny served for three years as CEO of Falconbridge New Caledonia and as the managing director of North American operations for Met-Chem Canada for over two decades.
