SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s nylon (polyamide) chip imports in May increased from the previous month, aided by lower prices following declines in cost of feedstock caprolactam (capro), market sources said on Thursday.

The country imported 48,128 tonnes of nylon chips in May, up by 16.2% from April, according to statistics from China Customs.

Import prices of nylon chips last month averaged at $2,752/tonne (€2,119/tonne), down by 2.5% from April, official data showed.
