Two workers hurt in Saratovorgsintez, Russia hydrogen cyanide leak

MOSCOW (ICIS)--Two workers at the Saratovorgsintez chemical plant in the Perm region of Russia were hospitalised following a leak of hydrogen cyanide, local officials said on Thursday.

The minor leak posed no threat to adjacent areas, according to Perm’s Regional Emergency Situations Department.

Based in Saratov, central Russia, Saratovorgsintez produces hydrogen cyanide, acrylic fibre, methyl methacrylate and acetone cyanohydrin.

The company did not say if production was affected.
