SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sinochem Hongrun has halted bitumen production at its 2.5m tonne/year crude distillation unit (CDU) for an indefinite period, because of soft demand for the product, a company source said on Friday.
The CDU’s daily bitumen output of 2,000 tonnes ceased on 27 June.Production loss at the plant will help ease oversupply in the Shandong bitumen market, where end-user demand has been weak because of few road projects that have been started, an industry source said.
