SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shanghai Petrochemical, a subsidiary of Sinopec, will restart its 100,000 tonne/year low density polyethylene (LDPE) unit and 100,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) unit in the week after maintenance completes, a company source said on Monday.
The PP unit, which is located in Shanghai, was taken off line on 1 July and will restart on 3 July, the source added.
The LDPE unit on the same site is scheduled to come on stream on 6 July after it was shut down on 30 June for maintenance, the source said.
Local distributors said the planned maintenance for both plants will have limited impact on the market because of the short duration.
