SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Hangzhou Longshan Chemical plans to shut its 300,000 tonne /year soda ash facility at Hangzhou in Zhejiang province on 7 July for six to seven days of maintenance, a company source said on Wednesday.

The facility is currently operating at 85% of capacity, according to the source.

Hangzhou Longshan's 300,000 tonne /year soda ash facility is the only soda ash facility in Zhejiang province, but products from Jiangsu and Anhui have been delivered to the area to compensate the expected supply loss, estimated at 4,200-4,900 tonnes, as a result of the company’s maintenance at the facility, a local market player said.

The producer offered light-grade soda ash at yuan (CNY) 1,450/tonne ($237/tonneex-works (EXW) on 3 July, stable from its previous offer on 28 June.
