LONDON (ICIS)--Butyl acrylate (butyl-A) players in Europe expect to see a rise in July contract prices, while spot prices are largely unchanged since last week, sources said on Wednesday.
Producers are targeting increases of up to €90/tonne ($117/tonne) for butyl-A contracts in July, on limited availability. Targets for acrylic acid (AA) and other esters vary from a rollover to hikes of up to €50/tonne.
Demand from the end-use coatings and adhesives sectors is stable, and general esters supply is balanced with consumption levels.
The July feedstock propylene contract price rolled over.
Butyl-A spot prices are at €1,550-1,630/tonne FD (free delivered). The range is steady with prices last week, but prices have risen by €80-120/tonne since the end of May.
Contract negotiations are underway.
