HOUSTON (ICIS)--The July mixed xylene (MX) contract has settled at $3.70/gal, a decline of 22 cents/gal from the previous month, according to trade sources on Wednesday.

The settlement, which took place on Monday, follows lower spot prices brought on by readily available supply and thin demand.

The settlement represented the second consecutive month that the US MX contract has declined.

The decline was also in line with other weaker aromatics spot markets, which have recently established yearly lows in late June.
