SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China's Jilin Petrochemical on 3 July cut the operating rate at its 120,000 tonne/year phenol/acetone plant to 80% capacity because of weak demand, a source close to the company said on Friday.

The plant was running at full capacity prior to the production cut, the source added.

It has yet to be confirmed when the plant will resume full operation given prevailing weak market conditions, the source said.

Jilin Petrochemical is a subsidiary of oil and gas producer PetroChina.
