SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical plans to restart its 250,000 tonne/year oxo-alcohols unit in Mizushima next week, after completing annual turnaround at the unit, market sources said on Friday.
The plant, which can produce around 150,000 tonnes/year of 2-ethylhexanol (2-EH) and 100,000 tonnes/year of n-butanol (NBA), was shut in end-May.
Mitsubishi Chemical is likely to run the facility at around 70% of capacity after the restart because of prevailing weak market conditions, market sources said.
