LONDON (ICIS)--Symrise has suspended production at a plant near Cairo because of safety concerns in the wake of the ouster of Egypt’s president Mohamed Morsi, a spokesman for the Germany-based flavours and fragrances producer said on Friday.
Symrise sent the plant’s 100 workers home on 3 July and suspended production because of safety concerns amid the unrest in Egypt, Clemens Tenge said.
Symrise currently expects to be able to resume production on Sunday 7 July, Tenge added.
