SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shaanxi Jintai Chlor-Alkali Chemical Co is planning to shut its 100,000 dry metric tonne (dmt)/year caustic soda facility in Shaanxi province on 10 July for seven days of scheduled maintenance, a company source said on Tuesday.
The company reduced the plant’s run rate to 80-90% on Tuesday morning from 100%, the source said.
Supply of local liquid caustic soda in China’s domestic market is not expected to be scarce following the shutdown of the chlor-alkali plant because of dwindling demand, market sources said.
