LONDON (ICIS)--Zaklady Azotowe Pulawy (ZAP) has appointed Marian Rybak as its new CEO, the Polish company said on Tuesday.

Rybak, promoted to CEO from his ZAP management board position as the vice chairman responsible for investment and personnel management, succeeds Pawel Jarczewski, who has become CEO of Grupa Azoty – the group which took over ZAP in January.

An engineering graduate of Poland’s Institute of Technology and Operational Engineering in Lublin, Rybak was deputy manager of plant maintenance at ZAP from 1988 to 2008, when he was elected to the management board.

ZAP is Poland’s largest nitrogen fertilizer maker, the world’s third largest melamine producer and a producer of caprolactam (capro).
