Singapore's PCS restarts No 1 aromatics unit after maintenance

Singapore (ICIS)--The Petrochemical Corporation of Singapore (PCS) has restarted its No 1 aromatics plant in Jurong Island on schedule after completing a 45-day maintenance which started from 1 June, a company source said on Monday.

The aromatics plant at Ayer Merbau is currently running at a normal capacity, the source said, without specifying the exact operating rates.

Prior to the restart, a separate source on 12 July said the plant was still shut.

The aromatics plant has a nameplate capacity of 100,000 tonnes/year of benzene, 50,000 tonnes/year of toluene and 28,000 tonnes/year of solvent xylene (SX).
